SMC Road Race Series
We are a non-profit running club, run entirely by volunteers. Anyone can run at any SMC event, no matter what their ability, speed or experience. All runners are issued with timing chips and bibs, and all finishers get an official time from our electronic timing system.
You do not need to be a member to run at an SMC road race. You can enter a single race online, or purchase multiple races in advance to save even more time and money.
Full details of the current season can be found on the Calendar page.
Next Event - Sunday, 18 March 2018Race Seven
* For 21.1 km runners with a projected finish time > 2h15m Registration closes at 7pm on the day before race day. |
Race Eight Moved to April 22
Due to the unfortunate clash with the recently scheduled Canberra marathon, and faced with the prospect of losing many of not only our runners but also our volunteers - without whom, no SMC event is possible - we have been forced to reschedule our April Race.
Race Eight (previously scheduled for April 15th) will now be held on the following weekend, on Sunday April 22nd.
Please update your calendars.
In addition, we would like to advise you regarding upcoming planned maintenance.
Our registration company Active Network is planning software maintenance on Tuesday the 10th of October, from 2pm until 8pm AEDT. During this four hour window, service will be intermittent. This maintenance window is unfortunately out of our control.
We strongly recommend avoiding race registration around this time. To reinforce this, the big green button on the website will be disabled during the above period.
We will post a reminder closer to the date.

Gipps Road Complex toilets now available
It's shaping up to be a great, albeit unseasonably warm day at Race One this Sunday. Remember to bring some sun protection, keep hydrated, and adjust your pace as necessary.
We are pleased to announce that we will now have access to the Gipps Road Sporting Complex toilets conveniently located near the start area, in addition to the toilets near the parking at Rosford Street Reserve. This access has been requested for some time now, so we trust that these new arrangements will come as a relief to all of our runners. The Facilities page has been updated.
We still need volunteers to help out with two of the drink stations. If you can help us, please get in contact with our volunteer coordinator.
We look forward to seeing you all at the race and at the free BBQ afterwards.

We need you!
Only one week to go until race one.
There's a lot happening on the morning of the race to prepare for a great experience for all runners. We would be extremely grateful if you can help out, especially if you can get there early to help with set up.
Did you know that volunteering counts for one of your six races for the purposes of the Points Series? You can even volunteer AND run on the same day. And if you volunteer at all the races, you will qualify for a "bleedin' lot!" t-shirt at the end of the series.
Give us a shout out at volunteers@sydneymarathonclinic.org.au, and we can have a chat about how you can help out. Thank you so very much!
