  • There are no refunds of fees paid.
  • The above prices exclude any service fee charged by the registration company.

Membership

You do not need to be a member to run at SMC.  You can just register, turn up and run if you like! However SMC is a running club and we hope you want to be a part of it.

Your $20 Membership includes:

  • 25% discount on M7 marathon or M7 marathon relay (up to $25 value)
  • Half price SMC awards night dinner ticket ($25 value)
  • Eligibility for end of season club awards

Perhaps the most important benefit is that you’ll become a member of a running club which has been established for over 30 years.

Please note that membership may only be purchased up until the 6th race in the season.  Once the registrations shut for race 6, so will the option to become an SMC member.  So don’t leave it too late!

Further Information For Members

All members who compete in all 9 runs in the same series will receive a commemorative “I did the flaming lot” t-shirt.  ‘Same series’ meaning all nine long runs, all nine 10km runs or all nine 5km runs.

Our online registration help needs to be updated. In the meantime, if you are having trouble, please do not hesitate to contact us.

All runners qualify for points series awards.

  • Runners must complete a minimum of 6 races in the same event in the current series.
  • Each race completed will earn you points.
  • The points from your best 6 races will count towards your end of season total.
  • For each event (Long run, 10km and 5km) the following categories will apply:

  • Outright winners are not eligible for age group awards.
  • Your age for the season is determined by your age on the first race of the season.  So if your birthday is on the 1st November and you are 39 years old on the 20th October 2013 you will be in the 30-39 age category for the entire season.
  • For each event (Long run, 10km and 5km) the following points will apply:

    14th = 4 points
    15th = 3 points
    16th = 2 points
    All other finishing positions = 1 point

  • Outright Winners – In every race, each runner will also receive points towards the overall point score.  The points are the same detailed above, but applied to the race, not split by age divisions.
  • There will be first, second and third male and female outright winners for each event So if you finished first in your race, you’ll receive 20 points.  In your next race if you finished 38th, you’d get 1 point.  Giving you a total of 21.
